The first mentions of working with leather in the manner we are accustomed to are indicated on wall drawings in Egyptian tombs (V century BC), the concept itself came much later. The profession of tannery reached its peak in the 19th century, combining all the achievements of past centuries: embossing, silver embroidery, engraving, pearl embroidery. In different countries were opened art centers, which taught apprentice tanners subtleties of the craft.
